The Ludibrium Party Quest (LPQ) in MapleStory Artale

Nov-20-2024 PST Maplestory Artale

Hey everyone! MapleStory Artale has just introduced the beloved Ludibrium Party Quest (LPQ), and for many of us nostalgic fans or new players, it’s exciting to dive back into this classic content. Since LPQ just launched, I noticed some players either coming back to MapleStory after a long break or trying this quest for the first time, so here's a detailed guide on how to do LPQ efficiently in Artale. I'll also cover a few unique features added in Artale’s version that you won't find in the traditional GMS (Global MapleStory) LPQ. Let’s get into it!

The Ludibrium Party Quest (LPQ) in MapleStory Artale

1. Setting Up Your Party

To start, here are the essentials for forming an LPQ party in Artale:

-Party Size: In Artale, you can do LPQ with 4-6 members, unlike GMS where six is required.

-Level Range: All party members need to be between levels 35-50.

-Class Requirements: Ensure you have at least one Mage, one Thief, and a ranged character (e.g., Assassin, Bowman, or Gunslinger). If your Thief is a Bandit, make sure another party member can handle ranged attacks.

Pre-PQ Checklist

-Markers: Artale has a gumball machine vendor on the left side of the map where you can buy markers, used in place of item drops. Dropping items isn’t possible in Artale, so markers are a helpful way to track your progress.

-Debuff Items: Holy Water or All Cure Potions can help with the boss stage. While optional, these can make things easier.

Once you’re set, find an available channel to start your PQ. Channels may be packed since LPQ just released, but stick with it, and you’ll find a spot!

2. Stage 1: Clearing the Rats

This introductory stage is straightforward:

-Objective: Kill 25 rats scattered across the map. Each rat drops a pass.

-Progression: In Artale, you don’t have to trade these passes to the party leader. Once all 25 passes are collected, Artale will automatically recognize them, and your party can move on.

3. Stage 2: Avoiding the Trap

Stage 2 can be tricky, as it includes a hidden trap:

-Trap Setup: One player should volunteer to enter the stage first to locate the trap. They’ll destroy a box, activating the trap and teleporting themselves to a “trap room” without affecting others.

-Trap Room Passes: In the trap room, break four boxes to gather passes. Meanwhile, your remaining party members will break boxes in the main room to find 11 additional passes (15 total).

-Progression: As with Stage 1, once all passes are collected, you’ll automatically advance.

4. Stage 3: Defeating the Rombots

Stage 3 is similar to the first stage, but with Rombots instead of rats:

-Objective: Kill 32 Rombots by breaking boxes around the map.

-Class Recommendations: Mages (e.g., Ice/Lightning) and Warriors should focus on the bottom of the map, as they excel at mobbing larger groups. Single-target classes, like Assassins and Bowmen, are better suited for the upper platforms where enemies spawn in smaller numbers.

5. Stage 4: Portal Hunt and Passes

Stage 4 is a bit more strategic:

-Five Portals: Each portal contains a unique enemy that drops a pass.

-Class Recommendations: The top three portals house enemies weak to magic, ideal for Mages. The bottom two portals contain enemies resistant to magic but weak to melee, making them perfect for Warriors and Bandits.

Note: The second portal from the bottom contains two enemies instead of one, so plan accordingly.

6. Stage 5: Climbing for Passes

This stage requires some patience and agility:

-Objective: There are six portals in this stage, each containing four passes that need to be collected by climbing ladders and ropes.

-Portal Assignments:

oTop Portal: Requires a Mage with the ability to teleport.

oBottom Portal: Requires a Thief (or a class with similar evasion skills) to bypass powerful Block Golems, which deal massive damage.

-Rope Climbing Trick: Artale includes a nifty trick to climb ropes faster. By jumping and alternating between the left and right arrow keys, you can climb faster than usual. Use this trick to save time during the stage.

7. Stage 6: The Box Puzzle

Stage 6 is a puzzle with a specific sequence:

-Pattern: The correct pattern is 1-3-3, 2-2-1, 3-3-3, 1-2-3, 1-1-1.

-Objective: Have one player press "up" on the corresponding boxes to complete the puzzle, allowing the party to proceed.

8. Stage 7: The Ranged Stage

This stage is where your ranged member shines:

-Setup: The ranged player should climb to the left platform and shoot at rats on the right platform. This will spawn more enemies on the bottom level for the rest of the team to defeat.

-Goal: For each Rombot defeated, a pass drops. Collect enough to proceed to the final stage.

9. Stage 8: The Platform Puzzle

The final stage is the most complex, but manageable with good communication:

-Four Platforms: Only four people are needed to complete this part in Artale (as in KMS-style MapleStory).

-Brute-Force Pattern: Much like the Kerning City PQ, this stage requires trying different platform combinations to find the correct one. Communicate with your team and systematically test each combination.

Tips for Success

-Practice the Rope Trick: Mastering the rope trick can cut down on time significantly during stages that require climbing.

-Efficient Party Communication: Be clear about who will handle each role, such as who will trigger the trap in Stage 2 and who will climb certain portals in Stage 5.

-Pre-Boss Preparation: Having a few debuff items for the boss stage can make the final battle smoother, especially if you have a supportive Mage or Cleric.
