Throne and Liberty: How to Build a Fun and Effective Damage-Dealer Healer

Nov-12-2024 PST Throne and Liberty

Hi there, fellow adventurers! I've been deep into Throne and Liberty and have reached level 50, and my build has quickly become one of the most fun and satisfying playstyles I've ever encountered. This isn't your typical healing setup - in fact, it's a bit like the old days of MMOs like World of Warcraft's Discipline Priests. Rather than focusing on pure healing, this build is built around damage to facilitate healing, and let me tell you, it's a blast to play.

If you're tired of the traditional healer role and want a more dynamic one that still keeps your team alive, you've come to the right place. In this guide, I'll go into detail about how my damage-healing hybrid build works, and how you can put it into practice in Throne and Liberty. Additionally, players can go to MMOEXP and buy Throne and Liberty Lucent to further refine this hybrid build, and trust me, it's well worth the money!

Throne and Liberty: How to Build a Fun and Effective Damage-Dealer Healer

Build Overview: Heal Through Damage

At the core of this build is the idea of healing through damage. That’s right, instead of focusing on traditional healing spells, my build revolves around keeping a constant stream of damage-over-time (DoT) effects active on enemies. These curses provide healing to my party, which keeps the tank (or anyone in need) topped off during encounters.

So, how does it work? Here’s the breakdown:

· Curses for constant healing: By keeping curses running on multiple enemies, I ensure that there is a continuous stream of healing ticking away.

· Damage-based burst healing: By using certain burst damage skills, I can trigger big heals when the tank or party members need it most.

· Utility and control: I've incorporated damage-dealing AoE skills, as well as abilities to protect my allies from incoming damage, offering utility during high-stakes moments.

The beauty of this setup is that it’s simple, effective, and fun. And the best part? It doesn’t rely on perfect gear — as long as you have the right stats, specializations, and skills, you’re good to go!

Key Skills for the Build

Here’s a detailed list of the core skills I use to make this build tick. These abilities are what make the hybrid healer/damager playstyle so effective.

1. Chaotic Shield – This skill is essential for boosting DPS (damage per second) while offering additional benefits if you dodge. It activates another curse stack when dodging successfully, which is key to keeping up the healing flow.

2. Time for Punishment – Reduces the target’s damage output and primes them for your burst damage skills, which also translates into burst healing.

3. Touch of Despair – The core of the healing flow. This skill provides a constant stream of healing to your target (especially useful for tanks), and when combined with Time for Punishment, it can keep the tank alive through heavy damage phases.

4. Fireball – This is your big burst damage spell, and it also provides burst healing when you need it most. It’s the perfect tool for a big chunk of healing when the tank's health is dipping dangerously low.

5. Chain Lightning – This AoE spell not only deals significant damage, but it also increases your healing potential by boosting your damage output. It's crucial in mob fights for keeping the healing and damage rolling.

6. Justice Lightning – Another burst damage spell that amps up your healing capabilities. It’s a must-have for any high-damage encounter.

7. Invincible Wall – A lifesaver for when your tank or any party member is about to take a huge hit. You can use this to shield them from massive incoming damage.

8. Cursed Nightmare – This is your crowd control (CC) skill, great for temporarily disabling enemies or gaining an edge in boss fights. It’s more situational, but it can be a game-changer when you need it.

9. Swift Healing – This is your go-to emergency heal. It’s fast, efficient, and can restore a huge chunk of health to tanks or other party members. The short cooldown makes it great for quick response during tense moments.

10. Fountain of Life – This AoE healing skill is perfect for handling boss mechanics that require group healing. It’s a lifesaver when multiple players need healing at once.

11. Clay Salvation – Another AoE skill, great for mass healing when there’s little time to target individual members. Its short cast time is a huge advantage in hectic fights.

12. Blessed Barrier – Use this when you know a party member is about to take heavy damage. It boosts healing by 40%, ensuring that a well-timed heal lands even harder.

13. High Focus – Use this to prep for high-intensity phases, like the final phase of a boss fight, or if you need to boost your movement speed for mechanics.

Specializations and Passives: Buffing Your Healing and Damage

Let’s take a look at the specializations and passive skills that support this build. I’ve chosen a combination of passive buffs and skill enhancements that significantly improve my healing output and damage potential.

· Devotion and Emptiness: A passive that increases healing effectiveness. It’s vital for boosting your healing numbers consistently.

· Noble Revival: Boosts the healing from your abilities, ensuring that your heals hit even harder.

· Vampiric Contract: A key skill for this build. It restores health equal to a percentage of the damage dealt to cursed targets. Since curses are a major component of this build, this skill is essential for keeping your team healthy.

· Wraith’s Backen: Increases curse duration and curse chance. The longer your curses stay active, the more damage they deal, leading to greater healing output.

· Mana Ball Eruption: Increases the chance that projectiles like Fireball and Chain Lightning will trigger additional projectiles, giving you more chances to heal.

· Forbidden Sanctuary: Boosts your skill damage, and while it does increase mana cost, it’s manageable due to high mana regen. The skill damage boost is worth it.

· Selfless Soul: Increases health and mana regen, and boosts healing output for allies. As a healer, this is a must-have for maintaining a steady stream of healing.

· Full of Corruption: Increases damage and mana regen when enemies die from your weaken effects. This synergizes perfectly with your curses and damage-dealing skills.

Stats for the Build: Prioritizing Healing and Damage

When it comes to stats, here’s where you’ll want to focus:

· Wisdom – As a caster/healer, this is your primary stat. It boosts healing and spell effectiveness.

· Perception – This stat is crucial for improving your crit chance and crit damage. The higher your crits, the bigger your burst heals will be.

· Dexterity – While not as crucial as Wisdom, some points here help increase your crit chance and crit damage, which can make a significant difference for burst heals.

· Strength – I’ve put little focus on Strength, as it doesn’t directly benefit the build, but if you have spare points, you can dump them here for added survivability.

How to Use the Build in Combat

The playstyle of this build revolves around maintaining damage over time and managing your big burst healing when necessary. Here's how I use it in combat:

1. Start with your DoTs: Apply curses to as many enemies as possible. This will set up your healing for the rest of the fight.

2. Use big damage abilities: Fireball, Chain Lightning, and Justice Lightning should be used to trigger burst healing, especially during tough moments in boss fights.

3. Monitor your target’s health: The green numbers above your head show the healing you’re providing. Focus on keeping your tank or whoever needs healing alive through your damage.

4. Situational healing: When the group needs immediate healing, use your AoE skills like Swift Healing, Fountain of Life, or Clay Salvation. These will get your team back up quickly.

Final Thoughts

This healing build in Thrones and Freedom makes for a refreshing change from traditional healers. It lets you focus on dealing damage while still fulfilling your healing role on the team. The synergy between damage-dealing abilities and curse mechanics creates a fun, dynamic playstyle that keeps you engaged in every fight. The best part? You don't need top-tier gear to make it work - as long as you focus on the right attributes and specializations, you can heal through the toughest content. Of course, buying TL Lucent in exchange for top-notch equipment from MMOEXP to complete this build will have more significant damage and healing effects. Happy healing (and causing damage)!
