Nov-16-2024 PST Pokemon TCG Pocket

Let’s dive into everything we know about Pokémon TCG Pocket, from trading, PvP, and PvE events to secret missions and upcoming events. So if you’re here to get the real scoop on what’s coming, saddle up, and let’s ride.

Pokemon TCG Pocket: Trading, PvP, PvE, Events, and Secret Missions

Trading: What We Know So Far

Trading is one of the most anticipated features in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Similar to grinding cards into currency (known as “flare”), trading may require you to possess multiple copies of a card. In other words, you might need duplicates to trade, with limitations on trading cards of different rarities. Don’t expect a free-for-all trading system—likely, you’ll only be able to trade Crown Rares for other Crown Rares, meaning you can swap, say, three Crown Pikachu cards for three Crown Mew cards if both parties agree. However, trading an ultra-rare single copy, like Articuno EX, for another rare like Gengar EX, may be off-limits.

Ranked Mode and PvP Events

PvP Events

Exciting news on the PvP front! While a dedicated ranked mode isn’t available yet, Pokémon TCG Pocket will be hosting a PvP event running from November 7th to November 28th. During this event, you can battle it out against other players to earn various rewards, including emblems. Some of these emblems will likely be based on win streaks, so if you’re able to string together several victories in a row, you could score unique rewards.

Winning also nets you Shine Dust and Pack Hourglasses, giving players more incentive to jump into PvP battles. While this doesn’t qualify as a ranked mode, it does provide a competitive environment for players to test their skills and earn exclusive rewards.

Ranked Mode

As for an official ranked mode, it’s still in development. During a pre-launch interview with the game’s developers, they confirmed that a ranked mode is something they’re working on, but they haven’t provided an official release date. Keep an eye out for future announcements, as ranked play could be added either as a standalone mode or as part of specific events.

Upcoming PvE Events

Lapras Event

Pokémon TCG Pocket has its first PvE event dropping soon, featuring a battle against an AI opponent wielding a Lapras deck. This event lets players face off against progressively more challenging Lapras decks, earning rewards as they complete challenge missions. Completing these missions unlocks Lapras EX, a powerful card that brings a fresh dynamic to the game.

Lapras EX has an ability called Bubble Drain, which costs three energy to activate. This card will likely be a popular addition to many decks, especially as it’s the first EX Pokémon added through a PvE event.

Fire-Type Mass Outbreak Event

Mark your calendars for November 22nd to November 28th, as we’ll see a Fire-type Mass Outbreak event. This event is likely to increase the odds of pulling Fire-type cards from packs. Participants will earn Shop Tickets, Hourglasses, and even Arcanine EX cards by completing certain challenges. It’s speculated that this event could grant players a better chance at obtaining specific Fire-type Pokémon, so if you’re building a Fire deck, this is the event for you.

Black Friday Event

From November 22nd to December 2nd, Pokémon TCG Pocket will host a Black Friday event, where players can probably score discounted Poké Gold. Although details are scarce, Black Friday often brings significant savings, so it’s a good opportunity to stock up on in-game currency.

December Events

PvP Event: Scheduled for December 9th to December 16th, this PvP event will offer similar missions and rewards as the November event.

Bulbasaur and Magnemite Event: From December 6th to December 20th, there will be another PvE event featuring Bulbasaur and Magnemite. Expect similar rewards and missions to previous events.

Secret Missions: Unlock Hidden Rewards

Now, let’s dive into some of Pokémon TCG Pocket’s secret missions. These hidden objectives reward players with unique prizes, including emblems, hourglasses, and Shop Tickets.

Starter Collection Secret Mission

For instance, there’s a mission for collecting three starter Pokémon cards—Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle—which rewards you with 12 Hourglasses, two Shop Tickets, and an Emblem Ticket. It’s a straightforward challenge but worth completing if you want some easy rewards early in the game.

Special Collection Rewards

Other missions require collecting specific Pokémon types or multiple copies of certain Pokémon:

Electabuzz and Magmar Collection: Completing this mission unlocks exclusive profile pics of each character.

Legendary Birds Emblem: This highly sought-after emblem requires obtaining Articuno EX, Zapdos EX, and Moltres EX in full-art versions. These powerful, rare cards are tough to come by, but the rewards are well worth the effort.

Kanto Pokédex Completion

For true completionists, finishing the Kanto Pokédex (collecting every Kanto Pokémon, EX or not) will unlock the mythical Mew. Another mission involves gathering all four “immersive” cards—Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Mew—which provides additional rewards.
