EA made more money off of just FIFA Mobile Coins loot boxes last year than they did their game sales. do you really think the kind of people who are going to addictively just shit their paychecks out all over EA have the ability to stop playing and buying every year?
The horrible business practices happen because EA spawned them into existence. They keep happening because humans can't be bothered to develop any amount of self-discipline.
I think that game is a special case though. It appeals to a massive casual audience that won't look into forums or anything else about their game. So unless enough of those people get mad on their own accord then they'll never just stop buying it. So I guess to the core casual audience it's just another thing they don't put much thought into.
Even the casual audience has noticed several games in the series's past that have had bullshit mechanics, actual recycled content, miniscule changes, and worsening loot. I mean, this year Cheap FIFA Coins players found actual assets from last year's game where EA had forgotten to paint the new year number over the stadium's year logo. And FIFA YouTubers are extensively popular, with them going over major game problems, issues, and constantly demonstrating EA's unbelievably shitty pack rates for years now to millions of fans.
That's to a level that a lot of people can't ignore. But it'll never be enough. As long as the core fanbase of the game is willing to stick around and pay out, it will literally never improve.
You see ,the issue is that as long as people keep buying the game, it doesn't matter. As long as they are making money none of it matters. All of the shitty reviews and public outcry doesn't make a dent in their sales. Sure, the BF2 thing stung them, but only for a quarter.
I've got a buddy trying to get me to pick up madden 20 saying how great it is. I played madden 19 for a total of 5 hours before I deleted it (with no refund, thanks psn), because for one afternoon I forgot what a fucking joke EA is.
Luckily I tried it for $15 on the EA subscription thing but I feel your pain, Madden 19 was godawful and not worth a dime. I went back to playing Madden 05 or the modded version of 08 on PC because they really haven't even tried to make a decent game in the past 15 years.
How many times do these surprisedpikachu.jpg motherfuckers need to get burned by EA before they learn?
By law if a game is faulty the customer has a right to a full refund under the consumer rights act. If they sell you a broken game we can get a full refund according to federal law. All i have to say is if they want to silence customers hit them where it hurts aka their wallets.
Good luck getting money back from any digital copy. They lock that shit down quick. It would probably take a class action lawsuit to do anything remotely resembling damage to them.

It amazes me how dumb people are with their money. Nobody understands that consumers need to come together and demand quality.
THIS is my reaction. How can you even introduce game breaking bugs to something that only has the visuals changed now and then?
Wasn't the issue that they were supposed to use the Bioware engine from ME3/ME:A, and repeatedly pointed out that it wasn't meant to support a high-movement action game, and then they switched engines (and developement team) half-way through the developement process, but didn't allow any change in the release date planning?
