Diablo 4's rarest items, known as Mythic Uniques, have undergone a significant overhaul with the arrival of Season of the Infernal Hordes. These items, formerly referred to as 'Uber Uniques,' now offer game-breaking power, making them some of the most sought-after treasures in Sanctuary. However, not all Mythic Uniques are created equal. Some excel in versatility and usability, while others serve more niche roles. Here's our ranking of every Mythic Unique in Diablo 4, based on their overall power, utility, and how they stack up against well-crafted Legendary gear.
8. Doombringer: The Stat Stick Sword
Doombringer may be at the bottom of our list, but it still has its merits. This sword was reworked in the Season of the Infernal Hordes to provide a massive boost to maximum life and generic damage reduction, making it a solid choice for builds that prioritize survivability. With a 35% increase to maximum life, Doombringer can turn your character into a near-immortal tank.
However, the sword's Unique effect is underwhelming compared to other Mythic Uniques. It struggles to find a niche in most builds, as many Legendary Aspects offer comparable or superior damage output. Unless you're playing a Barbarian who can afford to sacrifice a one-handed weapon slot, you're likely better off with a Legendary weapon that offers more damage potential.
7. Melted Heart of Selig: Survivability in One Small Package
The Melted Heart of Selig is a top choice for builds that need extra survivability and have resources to spare. This amulet significantly increases your maximum resource - whether it's mana, fury, or essence—and converts that resource into a secondary health pool. When you take damage, a portion of it is redirected to your resource pool, giving you a buffer against lethal hits.
This amulet can lead to some incredibly resilient builds, capable of tanking even the most challenging encounters, like T120 Pit bosses and Uber Lilith. However, it's not for everyone. Builds that rely on high resource consumption won't benefit much from the Melted Heart of Selig, and those in need of survivability might find Tyrael's Might a better choice. Trading an amulet slot is a significant sacrifice for many builds.
6. Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander: Shrines On the Go
Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander, often gets a bad rap, but it deserves more credit. This spear provides a hefty boost to critical strike, vulnerable, and Overpower damage, along with movement speed, resistances, and all stats. These bonuses alone make Ahavarion a solid weapon, but its true strength lies in its Unique effect.
This spear grants you a random shrine effect for 20 seconds upon killing an Elite, with a 30-second cooldown. While the inconsistency of shrine effects can be a drawback, getting an on-demand Artillery or Channeling Shrine can be game-changing. Ahavarion might not outshine some of the best two-handed weapons in the game, but it's far from being the worst Mythic Unique.
5. Andariel's Visage: The Ultimate Poison Helmet
Andariel's Visage is a helmet that brings a unique mix of stats to the table, including attack speed and life on hit, which are rare in this slot. Many builds, especially Rogues, use this helmet for the massive boost to attack speed, making it easier to hit the 100% attack speed cap.
The helmet's Unique effect—a poison nova triggered by lucky hits—is where it truly shines. This effect can deal massive damage, making Andariel's Visage a cornerstone for damage-over-time (DoT) builds. However, its reliance on lucky hits means that it's not equally effective for all classes. Rogues can trigger the poison nova multiple times in quick succession, while other classes might struggle to make the most of this helmet's potential.
4. Ring of Starless Skies: A Mythical All-Rounder
The Ring of Starless Skies was already a strong contender before the Infernal Hordes patch, but now it's even better. This ring boosts Core skills, critical chance, and attack speed, while also addressing resource sustain issues. Its Unique effect reduces resource costs and increases damage as you spend resources, making it a versatile option for virtually any build.
The Ring of Starless Skies has no significant tradeoffs, offering nearly every stat you'd want from a ring. It's particularly useful for builds that rely on resource spending, making it an S-tier pick for most players.
3. The Grandfather: Unwavering Strength
The Grandfather might look unassuming at first, but this greatsword doubles your critical damage, thanks to its multiplicative effect. If you have over 1,000% critical damage, The Grandfather boosts it to 2,000%, making it a must-have for any build that can spec for critical damage.
In addition to its critical damage boost, The Grandfather also provides bonuses to life, generic damage, and maximum resources, making it a highly versatile weapon. It's not the flashiest item in Diablo 4, but its power and versatility make it a top-tier choice.
2. Tyrael's Might: Angelic Resistance
Tyrael's Might is the ultimate chest plate for damage resistance, providing 20% global damage reduction, near-maxed resistances, and a significant increase to maximum resistances. These defensive stats make it a best-in-slot item for almost any build that needs survivability.
Additionally, Tyrael's Might grants a pseudo-Artillery Shrine effect when you're at full health, releasing divine arrows at your skill's location. While the damage from this effect isn't as high as a true Artillery Shrine, the chest plate's defensive capabilities more than make up for it, making Tyrael's Might an essential piece of gear for endgame builds.
1. Harlequin Crest: Best in Slot
The Harlequin Crest, or Shako, as it's often called, is the crown jewel of Mythic Uniques. This helmet offers 20% cooldown reduction, which can be increased to 44% with masterwork enhancements, making it indispensable for endgame builds that rely on skill rotation.
Beyond cooldown reduction, Harlequin Crest boosts your HP, armor, maximum resources, and grants a global 20% damage reduction. The helmet even provides a +4 bonus to all skills for your class, making it the most powerful and versatile item in the game. Whether you're looking to dominate the meta or survive the toughest challenges, the Harlequin Crest is the item you want on your head.
No matter which Diablo IV Items you choose, you will greatly improve your strength, but don't forget the importance of Diablo 4 gold. Making full use of them can bring you a huge improvement.
